MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate years of experience
- At least 2 years of successful experience in a computerized accounting & finance environment
- Related job experience encompassing some of the following areas:
- School operation practices
- State & Federal laws and codes
- Staff development
- Community relations
- Personal management
- Public school accounting, finance, financial statement preparation, and reporting knowledge
- Possess good interpersonal relationship skills

RESPONSIBILITY & AUTHORITY:
- All accounting functions of the school district.
- General ledger maintenance including account analysis and reconciliation, and journal entry development and posting.
- Deposits and records revenue collections
- Verifies all bank accounts monthly
- Maintains a continuous internal audit of all district accounts.
- Manage and supervise all school district accounting processes and procedures; including accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, payroll and benefits.
- Provide accounting services for preparation, administration, supervision and control of the budget.
- Assists in budget development and monitoring, as well as long term financial planning
- Supervise and prepares monthly, quarterly and yearly reports and tax filings as a result of accounting function.
- Work closely with Payroll & Benefits Coordinator and all other business office related functions performed by Admin Assistant to the Superintendent.
- Arranges the annual audit of the district financial statements by an independent CPA.
- Cooperates with the auditors and provides information to them as requested.
- Cooperates with all audit & auditor requests; including State, Federal, and insurance (workers compensation) audits.
- Monitors cash flow position of the district and recommends and executes investment transactions based on established Board policy.
- Manages district purchasing and ordering.
- Recommends the purchase of and oversees the maintenance of accounting equipment.
- Maintains, in conjunction with the technology director, the computer system as it relates to accounting and finance functions.
- Maintains all fixed asset records.
- Assists the Superintendent in the bidding process.
- Maintains, prepares and submits all education financial reports (Ex. FID, Title I, Title IIA, GSRP, 4094, 4096, Medicaid-Outreach, At Risk, EEM, budget & transparency, etc)
- Monitor and maintain tax related & borrowing documents/reports (Ex. L-4029, summer tax collection, Qualifying Statement).
- Assists the Superintendent in:
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
- Establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program.
- Managing a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
- Assessing benefits needs and trends for recommendation, obtaining and evaluating benefit bids.
- Updates job requirements and job descriptions for all positions approved by the Superintendent.
- Prepares pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions
- Prepares benefit budgets.
- Oversee the implementation of employee benefit programs and the communication of those benefit claim processes to employees.
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, which includes maintaining records appropriately.
- Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
- Cultivates professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools
- Agrees to perform all duties in a competent and efficient manner.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: At will employment. 52 weeks for 8 hrs/day -- July 1st – June 30th
PAY RANGE: $72,500 - $82,500 (Commensurate Upon Experience)
EVALUATION: Evaluated annually by the Superintendent of Schools
